Jason Aldean lost a dear friend to breast cancer in 2004, and ever since then he’s used his talent to raise money to help fight the disease. For starters, he hosts and performs at Concert for the Cure each year.

Aldean donates a portion of every ticket sold for Concert for the Cure to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. After performing at the event last night (Oct. 25) in Nashville, Tennessee, Aldean announced that they topped the $3 million mark. Altogether, the event has raised $3.3 million.

“It was a pretty full-circle moment for me to be able to bring this show back to Nashville where it got started as we go over the three million dollar mark,” Aldean said in a press release. “I could see a lot of family and friends out in the audience this year, which is a big reminder that we still have to keep fighting this disease.”

This year was an extra special event because Aldean partnered with The Grand Ole Opry for their eighth annual “Opry Goes Pink.” The venue turned its barn backdrop pink to commemorate the occasion.
