In 2007, Jeanne Moriak found a small lump on her breast, but was told that it was only a cyst and nothing to worry about. In January of 2009, after noticing the that the cyst had grown larger, Moriak was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Soon, she went from one tumor to five.

A month later, Moriak had her first surgery. Within a six month span, she had a total of three surgeries done, including a bilateral mastectomy.

Having never given up during her fight, Moriak is now a seven-year survivor. Ever since her diagnosis, Moriak has participated in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk and has given advice to others who are battling breast cancer to help them stay positive and to have hope.

Moriak is the first one to remind those battling breast cancer that they are not alone in their fight.

Let’s celebrate Jeanne Moriak!
