Kim is a single child who lost her mother to cancer and her father in the same year. Carrying the breast cancer gene, Kim elected to eliminate the possibility and took the step to be there to retire with her husband and to watch her children have children by getting a double mastectomy.

While described as very humble and self-sufficent, Kim was happy to have some help from friends and family while dealing with the pain from surgeries and the emotional strain she was going through.

Today, a year and a half later, Kim is starting to get some of her life back. She is back to work and is finally making sense of her choice.

Her life may have changed in so many ways, but that has not stopped Kim from being as positive as can be.

Let’s celebrate Kim!
