Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountains Rise Telethon is set to air on Tuesday (December 13) night.
The telethon will look to raise money for those who were affected by the recent Tennessee wildfires. Parton’s My People Fund, will provide $1000 each month to Sevier County families whose homes are uninhabitable or were completely destroyed in the fires.
Pledges have already come in from big name musical artists such as Kenny Chesney and Taylor Swift. The Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association, have also already made pledges.
A who’s who list of artists are set to perform at the show, including Dolly Parton herself, Kenny Rogers, Hank Williams Jr., Chris Stapleton, Reba McEntire, Alison Krauss, Michael W. Smith, Chris Janson, Big & Rich, LOCASH, Chris Young, Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Cyndi Lauper, Don McLean, Amy Grant, Alabama, Aaron Lewis and Rhonda Vincent.
Celebrities who will be working the phones during the event include, Paula Deen Todd Chrisley, Nashville‘s Charles Esten, cast members of Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors, Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane Stapleton, Brett Young, Cassadee Pope, RaeLynn, members of the Tennessee Titans and many more.
Other celebrities such as Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, Larry King, Steve Harvey, Robin Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland and Willie Geist will all appear during the telethon via video message.
The telethon will begin at 8:00 p.m. on GAC, AXS-TV, RFD and The Heartland Network.
