Maren Morris has just been announced as one of the performers for the 59th annual Grammy Awards.
As one of country music’s rising stars, Maren Morris is a nominee for this year’s Best New Artist Award. During music’s biggest night, she will take to the stage to perform with 15-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys, who won the coveted Best New Artist award back in 2002.
The Grammys stage will not mark the first time that the two artists have performed together. Back in December of 2016, Morris and Keys joined forces on an episode of CMT Crossroads.
Morris reacted to the news on social media. “Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m performing at the #Grammys” she wrote. “And I’m gonna collab with my girl @aliciakeys again for this incredibly special night of music.”
Country music will be well represented at this year’s awards show as Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood are also scheduled to perform together.
Morris has been nominated for four Grammy Awards this year, including Best New Artist, which she will go up against fellow rising country star Kelsea Ballerini for. She has also been nominated for Best Country Album (Hero), Best Country Song (“My Church”) and Best Country Solo Performance (“My Church”).
The 59th annual Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 12 only on CBS.
