Johnny Cash is one of the biggest names in country music history and that is why Brad Paisley calls his new song “Gold All Over The Ground,” which honors Cash, “one of the most meaningful things” he has ever been a part of.

“Gold All Over The Ground” is Paisley’s way to pay homage to the one and only Johnny Cash. The track features a 1967 Cash poem that was not shared with the public until the release of his poetry collection Forever Words in 2016.

Paisley says he tried to imagine as if he and Cash worked on the song together. “It turned out magical” he wrote on social media.

“Gold All Over The Ground” is a part of Paisley’s forthcoming album Love and War. The album, which features songs such as “Today,” will be released on April 21.
