Sam Hunt Plans To Put His Music Out ‘As It Is Made’

When it comes to new music, many artists usually release it in bulk via an album, but not Sam Hunt. The 32-year-old country artist has decided to take a different approach, one that seems to already be paying off.

Sam Hunt may not know when he will release his sophomore album, however that will not stop him from releasing new music. In a recent interview with Billboard, Hunt said he prefers to put out music as it is made as opposed to holding onto it for an album release.

“I try to make music that’s relevant to my life and relatable to the culture I live in,” Hunt said. “Putting out music as it’s made, versus holding it until an album’s finished allows me to be more timely and maintain balance.”

At the 52nd ACM Awards, Hunt spoke on this sentiment to 92.5 XTU’s Razz on the Radio. He told Razz when it comes to new music he is “sort of at the mercy of the creative process.”

This approach to the release of his music is nothing new for Hunt. In December of last year, Hunt released the personal track “Drinkin’ To Much,” which found itself rise to near the top of the country charts. His most recent single “Body Like A Back Road” has taken the country music world by storm since its February release. It currently sits at the number one spot on the Hot Country Songs chart – a position it has held onto for nine weeks.
