Carrie Underwood is not one to hide her Nashville Predators fandom, even if that means taking a Twitter shot at their opponent.
The Nashville Predators of the NHL, who Underwood’s husband Mike Fisher serves as the team captain for, is in the middle of their Western Conference Finals series against the Anaheim Ducks. At the beginning of game one (May 12), Underwood decided to support her husband and her team by firing a shot at the Ducks on Twitter.
“Woah, what’s with all the empty seats in Anaheim tonight?!,” she wrote. “Wouldn’t happen is #Smashville that’s for sure!! #GoPreds”
Of course, many Ducks fans instantly responded to the country superstar with their own comebacks, but it wasn’t until after their game two victory that the Ducks organization decided to take their own subtle shot at Underwood.
“A country-inspired #DucksHeadline tonight,” they wrote. The message accompanied a photo of a headline that read “Ducks Take The Wheel” – a play on Underwood’s 2005 track “Jesus, Take The Wheel.”
The series between the Predators and the Ducks is currently tied at one game each. The winner of the series will advance to the NHL’s Stanley Cup Finals.
With so much on the line, it will be interesting to see if any more messages are exchanged between Underwood and the Ducks.
