The 51st Annual CMAs are approaching, airing live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 8 at 8 p.m. This morning, co-hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley put in an appearance on Good Morning America to discuss their escapades from years past, and, perhaps, to hint at something monumental happening during this year’s broadcast.
Without giving anything away, Paisley predicted that Carrie Underwood herself would be the highlight of this year’s awards ceremony. Underwood deferred, saying, “I will say that if (the highlight) is, it has absolutely nothing to do with me. It’s going to be a really special moment in the show.”
Paisley also discussed the nature of the material for their monologue and introductions, commenting, ““We’re not up there to offend. We’re up there to celebrate what our music is about. Which, really…country music is about life.”
This is the tenth consecutive year that the pair has hosted the Country Music Awards. Both Paisley and Underwood have expressed that watching the other is the best part of the evening, which has come to be known as country music’s “Biggest Night.” Just like any veteran team of co-hosts, they both seem prepared, excited, and beyond ready for the CMAs.
