Tapatio Springs, a Texas resort owned by country superstar George Strait, experienced a devastating fire over the weekend. Luckily, no injuries or fatalities were reported, but the resort sustained some extensive damage. Tapatio Springs issued a statement on their Facebook page, mentioning that the Clubhouse building experienced a “total loss.”
“We are so sorry to report that a fire started in the Clubhouse this evening and the building is a total loss,” the statement reads. “We are tremendously grateful for our staff, guests, members and the fire departments that responded quickly, cleared the building to ensure everyone’s safety, and have provided so much to Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort.”
There were 20 people in the building at the time the fire broke out in the attic and then spread to the roof, all of whom were safely evacuated.
Coincidentally, Strait had just performed at the resort the previous week, raising over 1.4 million dollars for Feherty’s Troops First Foundation, an organization that benefits wounded servicemen and women. Here’s hoping he wracked up enough good karma with that performance to get Tapatio Springs back up and running again as soon as possible.
