For the first time in more than 7 years, a live album has debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.  “Live in No Shoes Nation”, Kenny Chesney’s eighth No. 1 album, features live highlights from Chesney’s tours, stretching back a full decade to 2007’s Flip Flop Summer Tour.

With this debut, superstar Chesney trails only Garth Brooks in terms of No. 1 country album premieres.  And with Brooks holding the record with nine, the gap between the two is narrowing!

This isn’t Kenny Chesney’s first live album, obviously, but it does improve on the debut of 2006’s “Live:  Live Those Songs Again”, which premiered at No. 4.  “Live in No Shoes Nation” will be posted (at the top of the list!) on the Billboard 200 website later this week, dated the week of November 18th.

“Live in No Shoes Nation” features a stellar cast of guest artists, including Taylor Swift and Dave Matthews.  It was released on Oct. 27 through Blue Chair/Columbia Nashville.

Listen below to Chesney’s “Big Star (Live with Taylor Swift)”, and if live music is your groove, be sure to pick up a copy of “Live in No Shoes Nation” today!
