The 51st Annual CMA Awards are this Wednesday evening, November 8th, on ABC, and country fans should be gearing up for the star-studded event.
Co-hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are ready and raring to go, it seems, and sat down for an interview with “Hot Topics” (No…not the goth store) to discuss the evening.
This is the 10th year in a row that the pair is co-hosting the event, and they each expressed an opinion about how they’ve grown and what they’ve learned over the course of a decade.
“We have a little bit of an idea of what to do, and that’s a great place to start from,” Brad said, commenting on this year’s event. Carrie added, “The first year was kinda like, ‘What are we doing…is this going to be OK?'” Brad then joked, “I don’t even think they were sure after we finished.”
Clearly, they have this hosting gig down to a science by now, but what else can country music enthusiasts expect from the evening?
One thing which we know for sure is that there will be a performance honoring those individuals who lost their lives in the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting on October 1st in Las Vegas. It’s a tricky balance to speak of such a horrific occurrence during what is, ultimately, a celebration of all things country and the musicians we love, but it’s a given that Underwood and Paisley will do so with utmost respect and compassion for the music and the fans.
Tune in to ABC tonight at 8:00 Eastern time to catch the celebration in Nashville, and let us know who you’re rooting for to win! Check out the full interview featured on RareCountry.com below.
