It’s been a good year for up-and-coming country act LANCO.

A year ago, they were relatively unknown.  But since their hit “Greatest Love Story” dropped, buzz about the group is starting to spread.  Most recently, for example, they took part in the ASCAP Country Music Awards, presenting awards for the five biggest songs of 2017.

Author of “Greatest Love Story”, lead singer Brandon Lancaster, spoke to Rare Country about LANCO’s newfound success and the fans who are beginning to appreciate them.

“Whenever a song is doing this well and people are singing it back every night, it’s rewarding because it shows the things that you believe in,” said the musician.  “The things that you relate to, there’s a whole bunch of people out there that also feel the same way.”

Clearly, with a title like “Greatest Love Story”, love is something the group takes quite seriously.  And, as the band has begun to notice, the fans do as well.  More than once, a marriage proposal has taken place in the audience while LANCO is onstage, performing the song.

Says Lancaster, “You’ll look out and we’ll be playing it, and you’ll see kind of a commotion, and you’re like, ‘either a fight’s breaking out, or’…Then you hear people shouting, ‘They got engaged!’”

Is there any better compliment to a good, ol’ fashioned country love song than being the soundtrack to the biggest moment in two peoples’ lives to date?

LANCO clearly has its finger on the pulse of the country music community.  The band knows what the fans want to hear, they know how to deliver a quality performance, and, perhaps most importantly, they understand the magic that is true love.
