Big news today from Kane Brown.  He and girlfriend Katelyn Jae are engaged!

So, I bet you want to hear all about the details of the proposal now, right????

It’s a little anticlimactic.

Brown told People that his original proposal plan was SUPER romantic, involving rose petals and soft lighting and a bunch of other romantic details that never actually came to pass.

Why is that?

Well, here’s the romantic part.  Brown was so excited to pop the question that he couldn’t help himself, and blurted out the proposal before he had planned.

And what were they doing when his excitement got the better of him???

They were watching The Amityville Horror.

Let’s reflect on that for a second.  They’re at home, on the couch, probably in pajamas, probably noshing on something, watching a film about newlyweds in a cursed house where a mass murder occurred.

Anything about that strike you as the perfect moment to ask your soulmate to spend the rest of your life with you?  Anything?  Nope?  That’s where we are, too.

Luckily, Katelyn is so in love that she couldn’t help but say yes!

So when will we hear wedding bells?  Well, not until later in 2018.  Kane is currently in high demand, after the success of his No. 1 Single “What Ifs” with Lauren Alaina.  He’s also joining Chris Young on the “Losing Sleep tour” in January, so we won’t see images of nuptials for quite awhile.

Nevertheless, we are ecstatic to hear of another country engagement, and wish a lifetime of good fortune to the happy couple.

And our advice?  Make sure you pop a bottle of champagne at some point to make up for that whole Amityville fiasco.
