Chris Young fans, you’ve been called out.
The country artist wants you to know that it is not the sets or the acts or the production that makes for a great show. It’s actually YOU.
He has been traveling with his Losing Sleep 2018 World Tour, and it probably won’t come as a surprise that several stops on the tour have been completely sold out. After last Friday’s show in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he took to Instagram still flying high because of performance endorphins.
Referring to it as one of the loudest, craziest, and coolest nights of his life, Chris told Rare Country, “It was one of the best shows of my life. There was well over 9,000 people in the building and they filled [the arena] all the way to the top, and everyone was singing and everything, and they hit 114 decibels about four different times in the show, so it was like hurting people’s ears.”
Chris also spoke about the importance of reaching out to the fans to let them see what he’s really about…who he is as an artist. That relationship with the fans, he said, is something that is built gradually, as they learn about his style, values, and commitment to the music. And during a live show, that relationship is taken to a whole new level.
He said, “…(we can) create the coolest show on the face of the planet Earth … that no one will see if all these fans don’t show up each and every night,” Chris said. “So to see all these fans showing up is not only exciting, but very humbling to look out and see that many people.”
Given the crowd’s reaction to Chris at his Grand Rapids show and the next night in Chicago, his fan base is also relishing the relationship they’re building with the artist…more than he even anticipated! When the crowd can make an artist like Chris Young have the coolest night of his life…you know their connection is something special.
