It’s not often you get to see Canadians in the flesh.
It’s less often that you get to see Canadian country musicians.
And, finally, it RARELY happens that you get to see Canadian country musicians in their natural habitat.
However, listener, that’s just what happened here last week when we were lucky enough to host the James Barker Band in the Mealey’s X Lounge.
A great time was had by all, as you’ll be able to tell from the videos below. First, they had a short interview with Razz on the Radio, where we learned all about their good luck rituals, their typical Canadian weather, and that time they all got tattoos together as a band.
Then came the highlight of their visit, as they performed some of their favorites for us, including the first single they released in the US, “Chills.”
They were an honor to have, what with their Canadian manners and the cute way they kept saying “aboot.” But what’s more, they were truly appreciative of the chance to share their music with us. On our end, we were taken aback by their professionalism, the respect they had for one another and the music, and their eagerness to perform for us and our listeners.
In that vein, they ended their visit by autographing some of our Mealey’s X Lounge pillows, and filling us in on their “1Thing Initiative”, the one step they take towards environmental sustainability and eco-consciousness.
